Timeless

Vintage: the class of a dated object with reference to era of production or use.

My feelings toward vintage style are perhaps a little different than most, as I feel the best vintage is the kind that, at first glance doesn't really have an obvious date. It should look as relevant and stylish today as it did in its year of conception-a timeless elegance- a sophistication that transcends fashion.

The 1960's Rolex's that are pictured below are a prime example of my thoughts on vintage. They look so similar to pieces that are still being made today and will continue to be made tomorrow- a stale date doesn't exist.

These pieces are instant classics worth the investment. Of course, with the secondary market comes secondary pricing. When purchasing vintage pieces, you can, in a lot of cases, snatch them up at a bottomed out price. Unlike so much else, a Rolex will only ever be worth so little. If it is well taken care of the price can only depreciate so much before it begins a re-appreciation.

Like Rolex, Cartier, Longines, Patek Phillipe all offer classics that will always make sense from the perspective of absolute design.
